Do we really use old doors?

Do we really use old doors?

Do we really use old doors?

Do we really use old doors?

Old becomes new with our 'Old Door' range

Over the past few years Vast has been stockpiling hundreds of old doors from demolished houses throughout India. These doors are often brightly coloured with several different layers of paint that have accumulated over the decades.

The doors are disassembled,  de-nailed, and cleaned, leaving the recycled timber ready for manufacturing.

These old planks are then aesthetically arranged by hand into a unique design that blends all of the original colours.

New mango wood is then added to form the structural sub-frame, and then the product is hand sanded,  and hand lacquered with 9 coats of high quality German lacquer.

It is a painstaking process, but the end justifies the means.  A one-off piece of furniture, with its own inherent characteristics that has been hand crafted from new and  recycled timbers.

Witness our 'Old Door Dining Table' as it undergoes a transformation in one of our indian factories.
